Mead School District After School Sports Program
SYSA’s partnership with the Mead School District will provide recreational youth sports programs for each of the 10 elementary schools. Students actively attending a Mead School District elementary school are eligible to register online for this program. SYSA intends to build upon the strong Mead community spirit and pride with these programs.
SYSA’s philosophy promotes building communities and providing each child with the opportunity to be a star.
SYSA will rotate 7 different sports programs throughout the year, providing training and sports experiences for students ranging from kindergarten through 5th grade. Each sport will be rotated through all locations. All programs are co-ed.
Indoor Sports: Basketball, Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, and Speed & Agility
Outdoor Sports: Flag Football, Soccer, and Track & Field
SYSA wants to develop the best programs possible. SYSA is working with the District and parents to improve curriculum and make this program a success.

Mead School Pairings
Mead elementary schools are paired by location.
The host school will be the same throughout the year: Colbert, Evergreen, Midway, Skyline, and Farwell. Bus transportation will be provided by the Mead School District to the host school from its paired school.
Colbert and Meadow Ridge Elementaries

Kindergarten & 1st Grade students, $40, Mondays, 3:20 – 5:00 pm
2nd & 3rd Graders students, $40, Wednesdays, 3:20-5:00 pm
4th & 5th Graders students, $40, Tuesdays, 3:20 – 5:00 pm.
Financial Assistance Information
SYSA is pleased to offer limited financial assistance for those whose finances may inhibit participation in our leagues. Financial Assistance Application found below or in the SYSA office. Form must be submitted to the SYSA office at 800 North Hamilton, Suite 201, Spokane, WA 99202 or emailed to receptionist@sysa.com.
* Please submit your application with verification of income as identified on the application.
* Financial Assistance is only available for timely registrations to recreational sports leagues. Applications need to be turned in one week prior to a deadline or registration may not get completed on time.

Staffing
Head Coach/Site Lead: Paid Head Coach on site to lead activities.
Program Assistants: Note- Parents/coaches who register as Program Assistants and assist for all four days of the session will be credited 50% off of one player registration for the session.
Curriculum: The sport-specific curriculum will be provided by SYSA.
Jerseys
Participant t-shirts will be available for purchase.
Player provides
Athletic gear appropriate for the weather.
Soccer, Track & Field, and Flag Football will be played outside.
Soccer: Athletic shoes or soccer cleats are recommended.
Track: Athletic shoes are recommended.
Flag Football: Athletic shoes or cleats are recommended.
Volleyball, Indoor Soccer, Basketball, and Speed & Agility will be played inside.
Volleyball: Athletic shoes and knee pads are recommended.
Indoor Soccer: Athletic shoes and shin guards are recommended.

COACH & ASSISTANT COACH REGISTRATION – How to register (3 steps)
- Coach Registration: Log in to the Blue Sombrero account HERE.
Click on the volunteer tab, view divisions, and complete registration. - Background Check: Lead Coach must complete an SYSA background check annually. If you need one, SYSA will contact you.
- Abuse Prevention Video: All coaches are required to watch an Abuse Prevention Video. SYSA will contact you with a link for the video. Once the video is complete, the coach can be assigned to a team.
ALERT- for better communications please add the following: support@stacksports.com, clubnews@bluesombrero.com, and receptionist@sysa.com as contacts in your phone/email. There have been several issues with coaches and parents not receiving team information due to emails going to spam, junk, and trash.
