   Spokane International Academy After School Sports Program


SYSA partners with Spokane International Academy to offer K–5 students co-ed sports programs. Kids can try new sports or build skills in a fun, supportive environment. Sports rotate throughout the year: Basketball, Cheer, Speed & Agility (indoor), plus Flag Football and Volleyball (outdoor). Open only to students who attend Spokane International Academy.

Divisions & Fees

Kindergarten & 1st Grade students: Tuesdays 3:30 – 5:00 pm
2nd & 3rd Grade students: Thursdays 3:30 – 5:00 pm
4th & 5th Grade students: Wednesdays 3:30 – 5:00 pm.

Pricing: $50 for all grades/divisions
**A non-refundable 3% banking fee and a $1 service fee will be added at the time of check out.**

Financial Assistance Information

SYSA is pleased to offer limited financial assistance for those whose finances may inhibit participation in our leagues. Financial Assistance Application found below or in the SYSA office.  Form must be submitted to the SYSA office at 800 North Hamilton, Suite 201, Spokane, WA 99202 or emailed to receptionist@sysa.com.
* Please submit your application with verification of income as identified on the application.
* Financial Assistance is only available for timely registrations to recreational sports leagues. Applications need to be turned in one week prior to a deadline or registration may not get completed on time.

Player provides

Athletic gear appropriate for the weather. Athletic shoes, a jacket, water bottle, and a snack are recommended.

Staffing

Head Coach/Site Lead: Paid Head Coach on site to lead activities. Coaches are paid $25/hour. Reach out to receptionist@sysa.com if you would like more interested on becoming a coach.

Program AssistantsNote- Parents/coaches who register as Program Assistants and assist for all four days of the session will be credited 50% off of one player registration for the session.

Curriculum: The sport-specific curriculum will be provided by SYSA to coaches.

Athlete/Coach Ratio: SYSA strives to provide the lowest ratio possible. However, due to coach shortages, that athlete/coach ratio may be as high as 15/1.

How to register to be a coach (3 steps):

  • Coach Registration: Log in to the Blue Sombrero account HERE.
    Click on the volunteer tab, view divisions, and complete registration.
  • Background Check: Lead Coach must complete an SYSA background check annually. If you need one, SYSA will contact you.
  • Abuse Prevention Video: All coaches are required to watch an Abuse Prevention Video. SYSA will contact you with a link for the video. Once the video is complete, the coach can be assigned to a team.
