2025 Spring Track & Field
SYSA Track & Field is a fun, recreational spring program for youth, kindergarten through 6th grade. Five Saturday meets make up the Track & Field season. Each meet is at a different area and consists of 3 events; events rotate every meet to give the kids experience competing in various events.
Events for K-2: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, Javelin, Long Jump, Rubber Shotput, 4×100 Relay, & 4×200 Relay.
Events for 3-4: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, Javelin, Long Jump, Rubber Shotput, 4×100 Relay, 4×200 Relay, & 4×400 Relay.
Events for 5-6: 100m, 200m 400m, 800m, Mile, Javelin, Long Jump, Shotput, 4×100 Relay, 4x200m Relay, 4×400 Relay, & Medley Relay.

Registration Deadline
Register on or before March 20th. Registrations after will be a waitlist registration and will not be guaranteed a correct shirt size but will still receive a shirt.
Divisions & Fees
$125 – Grades K-2
$125 – Grades 3-4
$125 – Grades 5-6
**A non-refundable 3% banking fee and a $1 service fee will be added at the time of check out.**
Practices
Begins April 14th.
The coach determines the practice day, time, and location.
Practices will be twice a week for grades 3rd-6th, once a week for grades K-2nd.

Uniform provided
T-Shirt included (Anyone who registers after the deadline will not be guaranteed their shirt size.)
Player provides
Shorts, labeled water bottle, and running shoes (no track spikes allowed).
Coaches Information
- Pre-season coaches meeting via Zoom – August 28th 6pm – Link will be sent out via email
- The coach determines the practice day, time, and location.
- Practices will be twice a week for grades 3rd-6th, once a week for grades K-2nd.
- Gear bags will be handed out to each coach and returned at the end of the season

Picture Day –
Coaches will sign up for a photo session appointment with Dorian Studios.
The coach will receive the pictures by mail and distribute them to the families at the end of the season.

Volunteer/Coach Information:
- A Volunteer Head Coach is needed before a team starts – All SYSA coaches are volunteers.
- Volunteer Head Coaches receive 50% off one player’s registration per team coached. LINK for registration procedure, training curriculum, and a coaches equipment kit. The Head Coach will receive a 50% refund after the program has started and team is confirmed.
- Coaches contact registered players after Coach Meeting, please be patient waiting for this contact.
- Online Registrations are confirmed by email; if information is omitted notify SYSA via reply email.
- Once assigned to a team, the coach picks the practice field, days, and time. (Click for Field Locations).
- Track Timers will be needed at every meet
How to register to Coach (3 steps)
- Coach Registration: Log in to Blue Sombrero account HERE.
Click on the volunteer tab, view divisions, and complete registration. - Background Check: All coaches must complete an SYSA background check annually. If you need one, SYSA will contact you.
- Abuse Prevention Video: All coaches are required to watch an Abuse Prevention Video. SYSA will contact you with a link for the video. Once the video is complete, the coach can be assigned to a team.
SYSA’s mission is to provide sports activities for all youth where everyone plays, develops skills, is taught good sportsmanship, and learns the value of being a team player.
