Spring 2017 Soccer
SYSA Recreational Soccer
SYSA provides consistent and affordable soccer programs for youth ages 4 through 18 where every kid receives playing time and the positive atmosphere to help them build confidence in themselves. Beginners are welcome, as the goal is to get youth from every corner playing soccer. Additionally, SYSA has practice and game locations spanning across the greater Spokane area to make youth soccer more convenient for families.
The programs gradually become more sophisticated as the participant’s age increases. The commitment level for our U5 participant is one day per week at the same field and time. This program is designed to introduce soccer to youth in a fun and dynamic environment where they can work on their coordination and understanding of the game. For U6 through U8 participants, the commitment jumps to two days per week during the season, as the youth’s attention span catches up to their amazing ability to absorb new techniques, strategies, and fundamentals. The participants will have one weeknight practice and one Saturday game. Coaches are present on the field during the games to help referee and teach rules. U9 through U14 players play three times per week during the season – two weeknight practices and one Saturday game. This jump in commitment level fuels player bonding and team chemistry. Referees are requested for this older group as coaches step off the field during the games to allow the players to develop and make decisions more independently. These changes are all accompanied by an increase in both field size and players on the field as the youth advance through the age groups. The high school U15-U19 co-ed league gives older players an opportunity to play soccer in an organized league where everyone makes the team and is able to compete.
