Blue Toe event to support Rypien Foundation

Published On: 02-19-2014

SYSA has teamed up with the Rypien Foundation to host the 1st annual Blue Toe fundraiser. The Rypien Foundation is a premier provider of hope to families with children who suffer from Cancer in the Inland Northwest.

If your team does their part and gathers at least $35 in cash or checks, come rain, snow, frost or cold, your SYSA soccer coaches will coach their first games on Saturday, April 19th, in their bare feet.

100% of the proceeds go directly to the Rypien Foundation!

What we are asking coaches to do:

  • Participate! Please join us by taking another step in kicking Cancer. Commit to your players that you will coach in your bare feet that day, regardless of the weather. Make it fun by offering to paint your toenails (or even your entire feet!) in blue or challenging the parents on your team to join you. Make it a challenge and let your players feel like they’re tormenting you!
  • Talk it up! We will provide families with details through e-mail and the web site, but you can help by reminding players and parents about the event at team meetings, practices, etc.
  • Set a team goal. We’re suggesting a team goal of $35 but your team may want to set a higher goal to help more kids. Be prepared to collect money at your game on April 19th. You can then bring the donations to the SYSA office during business hours at 800 N. Hamilton Ste 201, Spokane, WA 99202. Please make all checks out to the Rypien Foundation. All donations will be documented.
  • Let us know how it goes! Take some pictures and e-mail them to rick@sysa.com. We will post some of the best photos online.

Super Bowl MVP quarterback and Washington State Star, Mark Rypien will be hosting a pizza party with prizes for the team that raises the most money for the cause.

We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing a lot of Blue Toes on Saturday, April 19th!

See You on the Pitch!!!
